Do I get to select which physician I will see?
The Cardiology Associates staff will suggest which physician you should meet with according to your needs. However, it is always the patient's choice as to which caregiver they wish to see.
Are all services provided at the main Port Huron Heart Center office, or do I need to go to the hospital?
Most procedures are conducted in the Port Huron office, however, some tests need to be done at the hospital. When scheduling a test, our staff will advise you as to the location where you will have your procedure.
When I come for a test, can I drive myself home?
If you have a test performed in our office, you will be able to drive yourself home. If your test is done at the hospital, you may not be allowed to drive afterward, and will need to arrange for someone to drive you home.
How long will my test take?
Each test is different; some take an hour, and others take several hours. Your doctor will review specific details with you beforehand, including how long it will take, what to expect, what to wear, etc.
What does "non-invasive" mean?
Non-invasive refers to those tests that do not require an incision.
Can arrangements be made if I need an interpreter?
Yes. Arrangements for a translator or an interpreter to accompany you to your appointment can be provided in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What if I'm a diabetic patient?
Diabetic patients should follow their medication and diet schedule as prescribed by their doctor. Depending upon the test you are having, it may also be helpful for you to bring a snack or lunch with you to your appointment.
